Championing Wild Imaginings

Come and join my community of humankind who want the opportunity to leave aside the mundane.  To step out of ordinary reality and spend some time in a magical make believe realm.  A place of beauty. A world where you can become whoever you choose to be.

You want to but…. you just need a little help to get there.  I am here to stimulate, nurture and then champion wild imagining in all who choose to skip along with me down the path of creative imagining.

Vision

To entice you into my creative world by sharing the beauty and peace that happens when you dream and then manifest that world for yourself.  There will be fancy hats, magical creatures, garden lore and stories told.

Mission

To be a faerie godmother who aides you in becoming the magic behind the curtain in your own life.

My Story

At an early age I learned to crave creating.  Mud pies, tree houses, castles in the sand, clothing for my cat and much much more.  I won a blue ribbon in 1st grade for an eraser drawing and that was all the encouragement I needed.  Nothing else gives me that calm peaceful feeling like creating something from nothing.   The outer world just simply disappears and I am in my element.  Like a dragon to air and a mermaid to water. I am in my personal heaven.  I was middle daughter in a family of makers so I was used to everyone around me making things.  It seemed natural to me.  Until age 12 I lived on an apiary in the lovely northern part of Wyoming and was a wild child.  Free to wander, riding horses bareback, making forts and finding adventures on my bike.

As an adult I became a special education teacher for awhile, but after a powerful series of dreams involving various animals I decided to quit. The animals would follow and chase me and then melt into me and we became one.  These dreams helped me realize I could be much more and I went back to creating.  I started a small business called Leopard’s Leap after the first animal in my dreams. I moved into a small attic apartment and joined a local art community at an old girl’s school called Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, NM.  I loved being surrounded by like minded people and my creativity soared to new heights.  I toured the nation doing Art Shows, Festivals and Sci-Fi Conventions for many years.

Then one day a lady from Cirque du Soleil called me on the phone and asked if I wanted to be a part of their circus.  I worked for clowns for 17 years supplying their retail market.  I designed and produced over 55 different wearable masks and ramped up to shipping out about 800 masks a week.  Not bad for a little girl from Wyoming who was told she would never make money as an artist.

I am here to tell you there is life after the circus.  I retired from Cirque du Soleil and started to recover slowly. I now have a great Etsy site and two stores in New Orleans that I supply. I have created many times for Antonia Sautter who owns the Doge’s Ball in Venice , Italy.  Dolce and Gabbana had me create 450 pieces for their party in Venice, Italy.  Who knows who will call next.  Right?

I am creating this community because I really want to share all my imagination. I do so much that no one ever sees. This site will connect you to that endless creative energy that is Judith Rauchfuss.  In the works are imaginative faery furniture from my garden, a collection of lovely vintage hats and stuff, how to videos and first look at new paintings.

I sincerely hope you join me in this journey.
